The separate self is a veil that hides the True Self

The separate self is a veil that hides the true Self.

In the temple, as the bible story says,
When Christ died on Good Friday the veil tore and direct access to God through truth was revealed.

And behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom.(Matthew 27:51 NASB)

Perhaps this is a metaphor for awakening.

Will we pierce through the veil of delusion, to reveal the God Self as our true being?                                                                          Unity truth and peace
Will we penetrate the apparent barrier between our egoic self and the divine and be released from the bondage of personal identity?
Will we overcome ‘the world’, transcend thinking and realise the infinite source?
Will we say yes to truth and know who we truly are as infinite awareness and timeless bliss?

Or remain asleep to the peace of our own being?
Or stay rooted in the dream of personhood believing there is a you and a me based on conditioning and division?
Or continue to exist under a hypnosis that says we are unworthy and guilty and we have a lot to do to eventually purify ourselves and get to God one day in the future?
Or identify as the body only, which will indeed eventually decay and die.

The choice is ours it seems – but for whom?

In reality as Papaji once said ‘Nothing ever happened’

The lure of this world is strong in some ways, if paid attention to.  Vigilance and love for God above all else is essential to have the courage and heart to (as Mooji says)  ‘win yourself back
Take heart – it is really possible to wake up!

For you already are the True Self.  You already are this light of the world.  The sense of being separated, finite, individual is a temporary illusion that appears to literally veil us from the immensity and magnificence of our true being, of our imperishable spirit.

How do we discover this?  Remain with the voice of truth, remain as you truly are.

When the serpents voice of delusion and addiction whispers in your ear and says that your identity is objective, to pull ‘you’ into form – you have the power to stay as yourself, the subject.  You have the power to turn from its lure and remain as the great silence, beyond understanding or definition, always present.

Holy presence.  Knowing nothing.

Don’t trust the ego’s voice that is bound to form and mental slavery.  It is not you.  Learn the difference between yourself, and the delusive personal mind with all its temptations and disguises and hooks and triggers.

Simply remain as the witness and turn to the silence within that needs nothing.  That is no thing.  Not a thing/object.  Remain true to what is good, pure, kind, formless and limitless – simply being.

We may think ‘there is nothing there of interest!’  And in a way there is no thing.  But this is the most auspicious and sacred no thing.  This is spaciousness and true freedom.  This is liberation.  This just could be the nothing that is referred to here in the bible:

‘he made himself nothing

Jesus is found in the ‘appearance as a man’.

We may think we are someone in an infinite universe.  But we are the infinite one in which the whole universe appears.

This nothingness, this emptiness is bliss.  Many run scared from emptiness because they imagine it to be a void that will swallow them up.  In a way it is – but when the ego (the false self that keeps us apparently enslaved) is exposed and emptied out and neutralised by the light of truth, great joy is recovered in the heart of the being.

Joy and love abide here, as emptiness.  Empty of impurity and desires and attachments.  Pure untouched peace.

This ‘Isness’, as Mooji says is

‘Vaster than Sky and Greater Than Space’.

Be awareness, don’t identify with emotions.  You are not emotion.

But you can use every emotion to be reminded of what you truly are though, in alignment with God.  Bentinho Massaro speaks of the ‘emotional guidance system‘ which lets you know that if you are feeling bad that is a sign that you are out of alignment with what is really true, with the higher Self.

Here is a recent talk on this.  It is a tremendous tool and enlightening way to see how emotions can guide us to the pure, infinite source being.

You are not your feelings or thoughts.  They come and go in you, consciousness, pure awareness.

Don’t engage with the feelings but observe them as passing clouds in the sky of awareness.  They come as a potential gift to point to who you truly are.  Position yourself with awareness, as consciousness, as one with the infinite creator.

You are like the sky.  Not at all affected if storms come raging through.  Untouched if lightening strikes or rain falls.  You simply are.  What is.  Isness.

This is the sacred invitation
