The Spirit of Life set me Free

Policemen, who have a duty to keep peace and justice have, at times, abused and oppressed and even murdered our black brothers and sisters for years, in the name of the law.   This being witnessed so clearly, through the death of George Floyd is galvanising a new awareness and bringing a great wave of justice and healing to our world.

Many terrible things can happen in this world and we bear witness to this – whether or not it is domestic violence, exclusion or oppression of minority groups, unjust treatment of children or a lack of care for our beautiful earth.

All these things can be so painful to see, tragic, brutal and unbelievably dark.

Something in response to such injustice has moved this heart to say.  Perhaps injustice and  oppression can also go almost completely unnoticed, in our own psyche.  Perhaps somehow delusion begins there, in our conditioned mind and thinking.  In our seemingly innocent pursuit of phenomenal pleasure, fun and personal gain we could be suffocating our own opportunity to breathe in the life and love and light of the spirit, of our True Self?

Protect and nourish our own sacred inner knowing.

Forces within us and working in this world can appear to act like the oppressive force of the policeman’s knee on the neck of our own sacred inner knowing.  Every day the precious gift of our attention can be enslaved by the relentless pursuit of material gain for the separate self, or in our own minds we can be tormented by feelings of lack, disappointment or even despair and our true heart can be overlooked and ignored.  This can be mostly due to habit and conditioning.  Also an unawareness of who we truly are  – the magnificence of our true natural beingness.

Humanity can be taken hostage by the thinking that we revere so highly, that keeps us galvanised into searching and pushing and controlling and manipulating in order to get what it is that promises to bring satisfaction, peace, wealth, happiness and success in this material, physical and mental world.  But all the while the innocence and beauty and purity of the heart can be ignored, overlooked, not valued and starved of oxygen.

What is the result?   An apparent death of the wealth of the spirit.   Apparent because the spirit cannot ever be killed.  It is beyond the dualistic world of life and death.  It is deathless, infinite, unconquerable and true.
An apparent death though, nevertheless, of the joy that springs from turning within, turning to the source, turning to God, even if we have no idea what God is – to discover that here, always, is a richness and a power that is life giving and true.

The Presence of God

This power needs nothing, this power is not the power of the person but the presence of God.  It is untouched by the material things of this passing physical elemental show.  It is not grasping or selfish.  It is of a higher vibration.  But it is the oxygen of the soul.
It needs nothing to be happy and free.  It is imperishable

The True Self is so pure, so simple, so innocent, so natural and so peaceful that to be lifted up and pointed towards its vibrational field of love and light (which is no distance from you) is to breathe again in harmony with the spirit of God.  Blessed are the ones who point the way and lift this vibration in subtley and truth.

Will we wake up?

Humanity is crying ‘I can’t breathe‘ and will we release the grip of our own selfishness and delusion?  Will we wake up?
Will we look deeper at the truth of who we truly are and discover love, light and true peace in and as truth?  I pray we will!

The Bible seems to say that sin ‘lives in you’ and to repent for our sins and that Jesus takes away our sin.
Yes – and may be ‘sin’ is not actually who you are?  It is not your true natural being  – it seems to suggest that in Romans 8

‘The Spirit of Life set me Free’

‘through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death’ Romans 8:2

May be the deceiving voice that binds us to sin and separation from God is a result of belief in the physical changeful form actually being who we are  – along with the imagined, separate self (that does not really exist when searched for!)

We are not the body/mind only – we are that on the surface it appears but in essence we are eternal beings – timeless, pure, uncreated and boundless- are we not?

What is the result of this metaphorical knee on the neck of our true being?  It is an effect that is a symptom of the dis – ease of personhood.  The falling asleep into the grip and addiction of the carnal nature.  This state and hypnosis is believed in – for a time  – and it says ‘I, this entity, wants and needs this or that.’  It is intense desire to have what we want as a separate identity, as ego.  Like a toddler screaming for sweets.

Breathe again in Harmony with the Spirit of God.

But as ‘we’ apparently mature, against a background of unchanging awareness, we realise we can drop a lot of that selfish, grasping and wanting that is born out of fear and the need to control.  We can even drop the one who seeks peace – and discover a much more nourishing nectar that is so sweet and profoundly free.  The True Self, our own being and the universal indivisible being that can never actually be described or understood by human thinking or concepts.  They fall so far short.  But this God Self needs nothing and actually in truth has no form, no attachment, no personal problems, and cannot be sick or die, and was never even born.  It is pure and perfect and beyond any of these pointers.  It simply IS

Forms are born – and they pass, and can be so beautiful.

But YOU, in essence are pure formless awareness – beyond birth and death.

Breathe again in harmony with the Spirit of God.
